Throughout its
near thirteen year history, Battle took two other titles under
its wing, and had many name changes forced upon it. The original
and cumbersome 'Battle Picture Weekly' moniker was not the
co-creators' first choice, but was supposedly used to prevent
confusion with the monthly 'Battle Picture Library'. How adding
the word 'picture' to a title that already had 'battle' in it
was meant to reduce confusion is best left to those who were
there at the time. Here are Battle's many evolutions in
